چکیده
Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) was first published in 1991 by Parodi [1] and has since become a recognized standard method of treating infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA). The advantage of this minimally invasive treatment method is a reduced perioperative morbidity rate. EVAR is therefore the preferred treatment option particularly for older patients with an increased risk profile [2]. Technical advancements and the introduction of flexible low-profile systems continually expand the indications. The latest techniques, such as the chimney technique, or custom-made prosthesis systems allow treatment of complex paraand suprarenal aneurysms with the possibility of endovascular recanalization of the visceral vessels [3, 4]. The present study explains the indications for EVAR, presents evidence-based data regarding endovascular aneurysm repair, and discusses the current technical possibilities including the latest techniques for treating complex pararenal aortic aneurysms. Mycotic aortic aneurysms account for 1–3% of all aortic aneurysms. The management of this disease is controversial. Since open surgical repair is associated with high morbidity and mortality rates, endovascular aneurysm repair is an alternative treatment method with promising early and midterm outcomes, although its long-term durability is unknown.Secondary aortoenteric fistulas may occur iatro...

متن کاملFrequency of Complications Following Endovascular Repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm in Tehran Sina Hospital, 2011-2019
Background and purpose: Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) is a localized enlargement of infrarenal abdominal aorta. Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) is a surgical method introduced for AAA repair. This study, for the first time in Iran, investigated the complications and mortality rate associated with EVAR. Materials and methods: In this cross-sectional study, medical records were reviewed...
متن کاملStaged Hybrid Endovascular Repair of a Ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm with Aortocaval Fistula.
There is a growing body of literature expanding the indication of endovascular aneurysm repair, from prophylactic treatment of aneurysms to other indications such as ruptured and complicated ruptured abdominal aneurysms. Concomitant aortocaval fistula is rare, and reports of open and endovascular repair exist. We report a unique hybrid approach to a case of a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm ...
متن کاملCurrent Status of Endovascular Devices to Treat Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms
The introduction of endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair has revolutionized the therapeutic approach to patients with AAA. Due to an on-going and prolific collaboration between vascular interventionalists and biomedical engineers, the devices used to perform endovascular AAA repair have also changed dramatically. The purpose of this publication is to provide an overview of the cu...
